MAM is very honoured to be named one of Europe’s most caring companies when it comes to the safety of babies. We have been recognised with a “Special Mention” for setting and exceeding product safety standards for pacifiers, bottles and cups where we were awarded for pioneering the safety regulations in the baby industry.
Already in the 1980s, MAM began developing a pacifier standard which has been implemented across Europe. But at MAM we always strive for more! Our internal requirements and testing criteria go well beyond the norms. MAM pacifiers are subjected to 40 different testing methods before being made available for sale, while MAM bottles must pass 28 different tests. We have established our own research department and work closely with medical experts and parents during the development of our products. To ensure that every product meets our highest standards, product quality is constantly monitored and documented with a robust traceability system.
For more than 40 years, we have positioned ourselves as an industry leader in product safety, our top priority being the development of products for the well-being, safety and health of babies.

The body’s defenses are already very well developed in a 6 month old baby. At this age, all you need to do is sterilize the bottle and the teat occasionally. If the baby is ill, the bottle and all feeding items should be sterilized each time.
Step 1: Before the bottle is placed in a warm water bath or the bottle warmer, please make sure to remove the teat and cap to prevent pressure build-up inside the bottle.
Step 2: Place the MAM bottle in the hot water bath. If using An electric bottle warmer, ensure that the temperature does not overheat the milk.
Important note! Never reheat or keep half-used milk warm. Your baby might get sick.
Yes, you can. Simply remove the cap together with the screw ring. Microwave it as per instruction from your formula tin. After heating, stir to evenly distribute the heat. Please be careful in order not to burn your baby and check the temperature before feeding your baby..
Important note! Breast milk is too sensitive to be heated in a microwave. Just use a hot water bath or the gentle warming for breast milk from MAM 6 in 1 Electric Sterilizer and Bottle Warmer.
Fill the bottle with half of the required water - optimally you use cold water. Add the required formula as stated on the formula tin. Close the screw ring with the teat, and dust cap. Shake to dissolve the formula. Then fill with remaining warm water to the required quantity. The optimal drinking temperature for your baby is 37 degrees celsius. Always test temperature on your wrist before feeding to avoid burning your baby.
Yes, all parts in the MAM bottles are shatterproof, except the Glass bottle as glass may break.
Yes, the protective cap will ensure that the liquid remains in the bottle. Simply place the protective cap on the bottle and then it's ready to be transported safely.
For hygiene reasons, bottles and teats should be replaced at regular intervals. As a general rule of thumb, we recommend you changing bottles and teats after 3-6 months or earlier if any signs of damage become apparent.
If you find scratches on the bottle, discard the bottle immediately. To avoid scratches we recommend you using MAM Soft Brush for bottle and teat cleaning.
Please be extra cautious when baby already has teeth. If you see any bite marks on the teat, replace the teat immediately.
Already four-month-old babies love to try their first attempts in drinking from a cup. The MAM Cup range provides them with the ideal support here. This will ensure that baby makes the perfect transition from breastfeeding or bottle feeding to independent drinking.
MAM bottle teats come in six different sizes to ensure that the size of the hole is always perfectly matched to the type of food. Babies should always suck vigorously on the bottle to aid their healthy development. This is why the correct flow speed is so important.
Six smart sizes for perfect enjoyment while sucking:
Size 0: specially designed for newborns – extra slow flow teat to prevent newborns from choking
Size 1: from birth onwards – for baby’s first food which is particularly free-flowing
Size 2: from 2 months – perfect for the baby who is now slightly better trained
Size 3: from 4 months – baby sucks more vigorously and drinks faster
Size X: from 6 months – particularly suitable for thicker liquids
Spill-free teat: from 4 months - ideal for baby’s first independent drinking tries
Important note for breastfed babies: You should maintain Size 2 as long as you want to continue breastfeeding. The shape and flow rate of this teat perfectly mimics mom's breast and supports breast and bottle feeding at the same time.
The MAM Teat is easily accepted by 94%* of babies thanks to its SkinSoft™ silicone surface and its unique flat shape, which feel so familiar to babies. This facilitates an easy switching between breast- and bottlefeeding.
(*Market research 2009-2014, tested with 1,349 babies)
Bottle teats can simply be rinsed with warm water and a mild cleaning agent. Optimally you are using the specially designed MAM Soft Brush for best results. Alternatively teats can can be cleaned in the upper compartment of the dishwasher. The teat should be sterilized before it is first used and then at regular intervals depending on the age of your baby.
For hygiene reasons, the teats should be replaced at regular intervals – if used daily, you should replace the teat latest after 3 months.
In case of signs of damage or bite marks, replace the teat immediately. Simply check the teat each time you are about to use the bottle – especially when the baby already has teeth.
Please do not enlarge the teat hole, as it is reinforced to prevent tearing. Once the reinforcement ring is damaged, it can tear easily and break. Your baby may choke if the teat tears and break loose during feeding.
"Bisphenol A (BPA) is a component used in the manufacturing of polycarbonate (PC), whereas Bisphenol S (BPS) is an organic chemical used to make polysulfone. Among other items, food packaging, plastic utensils and some baby bottles are just a few examples of products made with PC, whereas the main usage of BPS is in thermal papers and inks. The huge problem of BPA and BPS: Trace amounts of chemical substances gradually leach out of the plastic into the food and might eventually get into the body. This can affect small children and infants in particular.
As a result of exposure to BPA, experts and studies have seen disruptions to the hormone system and brain, diabetes and heart damage as well as an increased risk of cancer. Although scientific evidence is not yet conclusive, the European Commission has banned the usage of BPA in baby bottles in order to protect the health and safety of babies and small children. All MAM products including MAM bottles are made only from completely safe materials and thus are free from BPA and BPS."
